What are lip fillers?

Lip fillers are injectable dermal fillers (typically made of hyaluronic acid) that add volume, shape, balancing, and definition to the lips for a plumper, more youthful look.

What should I do pre treatment?
Avoid dental procedures 2 weeks before treatment. Refrain from taking blood-thinning medications, aspirin, ibuprofen, NSAIDS, vitamin E, and fish oil 3 days before treatment. Minimize sun exposure. Avoid consuming alcohol 2-3 days before treatment. Stay hydrated. Detailed pre-treatment instructions emailed following booking.
How long do lip fillers last?

Most manufacturers state that dermal fillers last up to 12 months; however, based on our experience, we find that 9 to 12 months is a more accurate estimate for lip fillers. The lips are highly dynamic, constantly moving with talking, smiling, and facial expressions, which can cause hyaluronic acid to break down more quickly compared to mid-face fillers. Additionally, metabolism, lifestyle, exercise, diet, and environmental factors can influence how long your results last.

Is there any downtime?
Downtime with lip fillers is minimal. You may experience mild swelling or bruising for a few days post-treatment, which typically resolves quickly. To minimize the risk of bruising, we recommend staying hydrated and avoiding alcohol or NSAIDs (such as ibuprofen and aspirin) before and after your appointment. Most patients resume their normal activities immediately after treatment.
Will my lips look natural?
Absolutely! During your consultation, we will discuss your lip goals, provide professional feedback, and set realistic expectations to ensure your results align with your vision. Our priority is to create a natural, well-balanced enhancement that complements your facial features. Whether you're looking for a subtle boost or fuller, pillowy lips, Camel City Injector Medspa is here to achieve your perfect look with artistry and expertise.
Do lip fillers hurt?
We prioritize patient comfort during lip filler treatments by using a triple-compounded numbing cream to minimize discomfort. Additionally, we utilize smaller, back-filled syringes for a gentler experience. Our skilled injectors ensure a smooth process, and if you ever need a break, simply raise your hand! While the lips are a sensitive area, most patients describe the sensation as a mild pinch and find the treatment completely tolerable.
How soon can I get more filler in my lips?
At a minimum, we recommend waiting at least 2 weeks before receiving additional lip filler. This allows time for any swelling to subside and for the filler to fully settle, ensuring the most accurate assessment of your results. If you desire more volume or refinement, we can evaluate your results after this period and adjust accordingly to achieve your desired look.
What should I avoid post treatment lip filler?
Avoid strenuous exercise, alcohol, and excessive salt for 24-48 hours to minimize swelling. No kissing, sucking, or straw use for the 2 weeks! We recommend very light pressure icing for 5 minutes every hour for swelling. No rubbing or touching your lips for 4-6 hours post treatment. Avoid dental procedures 2 weeks post treatment. Avoid sun exposure and intense heat for 48 hours. Detailed Post Treatment Instructions will be emailed following appointment.
Can I get a lip flip and lip filler?
Yes! You can get a lip flip and lip filler in the same appointment. The two treatments complement each other—lip filler adds volume and shape, while a lip flip (using Botox or Dysport) relaxes the upper lip muscle for a slightly more lifted appearance. During your consultation, we’ll assess your goals and recommend the best approach to achieve a natural, balanced look.
What should I do pre-treatment?

Avoid dental procedures 2 weeks before treatment. Refrain from taking blood-thinning medications, aspirin, ibuprofen, NSAIDS, vitamin E, and fish oil 3 days before treatment. Minimize sun exposure. Avoid consuming alcohol 2-3 days before treatment. Arrive with a clean face. Stay hydrated. Detailed pre-treatment instructions emailed following booking.

What should I do post-treatment?

No rubbing or touching your face for 4-6 hours post treatment. Avoid dental procedures 2 weeks post treatment. Avoid sun exposure and intense heat for 48 hours. No physical exercise/excessive sweating for 48 hours. Avoid blood-thinning medication and alcohol for 48 hours. Lightly apply a cold compress for short intervals to reduce swelling. Post treat with Arnica to reduce bruising. Stay Hydrated. Detailed post-treatment instructions will be emailed to you.

Who is an ideal candidate for dermal fillers?

Ideal candidates are individuals looking to address signs of aging, volume loss, or enhance their facial features.

Is there downtime after a dermal filler treatment?

How long do dermal filler results last?

The duration of results varies depending on the type of filler used and the area treated. Generally, results can last from several months to over a year. Maintenance treatments may be recommended to sustain the results.

Is the treatment painful?

Most dermal fillers contain a numbing agent like lidocaine to minimize discomfort during the procedure. A triple compounded topical numbing ointment is also applied. Patients often describe the sensation as a slight pinch or pressure. NitrousOxide can be administered for comfort at an additional cost.

Patients will see immediate results post-treatment. Over the next week or two, you'll likely see the full effects. Swelling and bruising, if present, will gradually subside during this time, allowing you to appreciate the final outcome.

How does picosecond technology work?
PicoWay, uses ultra-fast picosecond laser pulses to break down tattoo ink into tiny particles. These particles are then naturally cleared away by your body’s immune system, gradually fading the tattoo over multiple sessions.
What to expect?
The laser tattoo removal itself may not be uncomfortable but discomfort is a normal response during treatment and recovery. The targeted areas will feel tender and sensitive to touch due to swelling and blistering thereafter. Once these effects subside over the next few days, so does the pain. Immediately after treatment, you will notice frosting on the area where the laser came in contact with the ink. It is caused by the rapid local heating of skin pigment releasing carbon dioxide on the surface of the skin which resembles white frosting. This signals the first stage of healing and it lasts for only a few minutes. More frosting occurs with dark ink compared to lighter ink. This is accompanied by swelling around the treated area. Redness, tenderness and swelling usually subside a day or two after treatment. Blisters start forming within 24 hours after treatment and they may appear alarming, but these indicate that your body is healing as it should. Avoid picking on your blisters because they will drain on their own and dry into scabs. The crust will eventually fall off within 10-14 days after treatment granted that the area doesn’t get irritated. One may even return to your usual activities shortly after treatment. The area will be bandaged to keep it dry for a few days following the treatment.
How does it feel?
Laser tattoo removal typically does involve some level of pain. That said, many say that it hurts less than they expected. It’s a common belief that tattoo removal is excruciating, yet most patients say that the sensation of removal is comparable to having a tattoo applied. Common descriptions include the sensation of a rubber band snapping against the skin or bacon grease – basically it’s uncomfortable but bearable.
Pre-treatment?
Avoid sun exposure / tanning beds for 2 weeks pre and post. Avoid pain medicine, such as Aleve, Aspirin for 3-7 days. Topical numbing cream or local anesthetic (lidocaine) may used and cold compress may be applied a prior to treatment.
Post-treatment?

Keep out of the sun, out of pools/lakes/bath water until healed. Apply recovery balm and keep it covered for 5-6 days while healing. Apply ice 10 minutes post treatment. Basic reminders:

  • Use sunscreen to protect the treated skin which is particularly sensitive to sunlight following treatment.

  • Don’t apply makeup or any potentially irritating product on treated skin while it heals.

  • Avoid shaving treated areas unless the skin is healed.

  • Don’t soak in baths, hot tubs or pools unless the skin has healed completely.

Is PicoWay tattoo removal safe for all skin types?

Yes! PicoWay’s advanced technology makes it safe for a variety of skin tones, minimizing the risk of scarring or pigmentation changes. We can safely remove black ink on Fitzpatrick Scale, skin type 1-6.

*We do not remove certain color tattoos on specific skin types due to the potential risk of burns, scarring, and pigment changes (hypo/hyperpigmentation)

Will my tattoo be completely gone?
PicoWay offers some of the most complete tattoo removal results available. While most tattoos fade significantly or disappear entirely, individual results vary. Certain ink colors and skin types may require more treatments.
What is the Describe PFD Patch?
The Describe PFD patch is an innovative skin barrier used during tattoo removal treatments to enhance the laser’s effectiveness. It is a perfluorodecalin (PFD)-infused transparent patch that allows for multiple laser passes in a single session, improving ink clearance while minimizing skin damage.
What are the benefits of using a PFD patch for tattoo removal?

Faster Ink Clearance – The patch allows the laser to make multiple passes in one session, breaking down ink more efficiently.

Less Skin Trauma – It helps reduce heat buildup, lowering the risk of burns, scarring, and pigmentation changes.

Reduced Pain & Discomfort – By scattering heat more evenly, the patch makes treatments more comfortable.

Shorter Recovery Time – Since the skin experiences less trauma, healing is often faster with less post-treatment irritation.

What color tattoo ink can be treated with PicoWay?

Black & Dark Ink – The easiest to remove and typically requires fewer sessions.
Blue & Green – Older lasers often leave these colors behind, but PicoWay effectively breaks them down.
Red, Orange & Yellow – Warmer tones can be stubborn, but PicoWay’s ultra-short pulses target them effectively.

Purple & Pastels – These lighter colors can be treated with specialized wavelengths.

*full color tattoos require more session

Erbium-YAG lasers have been used for laser resurfacing of skin. Example uses include treating acne scarring, rhytids, skin texture, and melasma. How does Erbium differ from other laser treatments?
Unlike a CO2 laser, an erbium laser is a gentler approach to the skin, hence why it is named the “micro laser peel.” The erbium laser is usually more of a superficial treatment than a CO2 laser and will help treat fine lines, some hyperpigmentation, and mild scarring.

Number of treatments vary depending on desired results. Recommended 1-3 sessions, treatment once per month.

Veins
The results of IPL begin to appear right after treatment and continue to improve over the next few days to weeks. It does take some time for veins to fully collapse and be reabsorbed by the body, so full results cannot be seen right away. If symptoms accompanied the spider veins, they are usually relieved immediately after treatment.

How many treatments do I need?
Depending on the indication of treatment, for best IPL results it is generally recommended that patients receive, on average, 3-4 treatments scheduled four weeks apart.
